{"id":105,"date":"2013-08-02T10:22:24","date_gmt":"2013-08-02T14:22:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/geddings.org\/site\/?p=105"},"modified":"2013-08-02T10:22:24","modified_gmt":"2013-08-02T14:22:24","slug":"awesome-munchkin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/geddings.org\/site\/2013\/08\/02\/awesome-munchkin\/","title":{"rendered":"Awesome Munchkin"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At one of the farmer\u2019s markets we visit from time to time, a bunch of kids are running around.\u00a0 They are mostly kids of the farmers themselves, and remarkably well behaved.\u00a0 While running around gleefully and chaotically, they never seem to cross that line into truly unruly children.<\/p>\n<p>Jo was about six months on one of these trips.\u00a0 Being out with a baby always gets conversations flowing, and breaks the ice in a lot of places.\u00a0 We were discussing how the kid fit into the farm with one of the vendors, both the husband and the wife.\u00a0 The husband, in describing how helpful he found the kids to be, got a wry look on his face, and hollered out for his 5 year old.<\/p>\n<p>The boy comes over, obviously not thrilled about being drawn from whatever trouble the kids were trying to figure out how to get into.\u00a0 He perked up right away though when his dad asked him to tell us about the vegetables.\u00a0 That kid started spinning stories about the veggies decked out in front of us.\u00a0 He knew all their names, how to best eat them, when they were planted, and how well they grew.<\/p>\n<p>Beaming with pride, the husband commented \u201cHe\u2019s our garden manager.\u201d\u00a0 To which the youngin\u2019 replied \u201cThat\u2019s right!.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Steph asked the boy how long he\u2019d been in this role.\u00a0 His face contorted up a bit, trying to do the calculation, and replied, \u201cI\u2019ve been doing it as long as I can remember, at least since I was two.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jo is 18 months in this picture, and already starting to dig in, cleaning up rocks, putting nails in buckets, carrying egg baskets.\u00a0 Cheers for the family farm!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/geddings.org\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/jojoblock.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-106\" alt=\"jojoblock\" src=\"https:\/\/geddings.org\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/jojoblock.jpg\" width=\"540\" height=\"720\" srcset=\"https:\/\/geddings.org\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/jojoblock.jpg 540w, https:\/\/geddings.org\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/jojoblock-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 540px) 100vw, 540px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At one of the farmer\u2019s markets we visit from time to time, a bunch of kids are running around.\u00a0 They are mostly kids of the farmers themselves, and remarkably well behaved.\u00a0 While running around gleefully and chaotically, they never seem to cross that line into truly unruly children.
